Any service is customizable depending on client needs, but being vertically integrated allows us to offer you a line of services that support any step of the casting process. Below are some of the services we specialize in at Sivyer Steel:
Solidification Modeling
Sivyer Steel was one of the first steel foundries in North America to implement MAGMAsoft™ software. This program allows us to accurately predict inherent foundry defects on computer models, allowing us to correct and eliminate those defects before the tooling is complete. Castings come out right the first time, with very few rejections.
Metallurgical Lab
Sivyer’s Met-Lab is equipped to conduct a battery of essential analyses and metallurgical tests, including tensile, hardness and impact, as well as identifying chemical characteristics of your casting. Additionally, our vacuum-emission spectrometer provides heat analysis before and after tapping, to ensure conformance to specified compositions.
Machining
Having a full service operation in-house is vital to providing our customers with value. Sivyer can provide either pre-qualified castings or a finished machined product. Our machining capabilities include milling, drilling, grinding, boring and turning. Specifically, our vertical turning lathe can turn up to 144 inches in diameter.
Non- Destructive Testing
Sivyer offers in-house radiographic analysis on castings to look for discontinuities like shrinkage, gas, porosity and sand inclusions. All of our inspections are conducted by Level II SNT-TC-1A certified personnel. Magnetic particle inspection, dye penetrant exams, or ultrasonic testing serve as the final step to ensure a quality casting.
Layout-Dimensional Inspection
Our laser scanning technology works in tandem with the state-of-the-art Romer Portable 3D Coordinate Measurement System. The six axis measuring arm provides us with an accurate and specific dimensional analysis. We can scan both castings and patterns to compare against the initial 3D model, validating the planning process.
Global Sourcing

Engineering
In addition to pouring castings, Sivyer can also engineer castings to replace a customer’s fabricated weldment. This service eliminates the need for multiple processes such as plate purchasing, plate cutting, the tacking process, and final welding, as well as the accompanying labor and fixturing required. This cuts down on both the time and costs involved.
