Melting

Melting furnaces used in foundries vary in configuration, depending on factors such as materials to be melted, melting rate, environmental requirements and cost of installation and operation. Selecting a melting unit is a very important decision given the different outcomes furnaces can provide.

Furnaces can be any size, ranging from a few pounds to many tons, and are designed according to the type and quantity of metals to be melted. Sivyer performs melting operations in Basic Lined Arc furnaces, with each furnace capable of producing up to 24,000 lb. heats. Our capacity is supplemented by two 2,200 lb. induction furnaces, allowing us to provide more comprehensive melting services.
